The Dutch Reformed Mother Church, has three foot tick mud walls and a magnificent yellowwood ceiling. Six yellow wood tree trunks are used as pillars and the solid stinkwood pulpit too a carpenter and his mate a year to carve.
There is in an antique sundial in the garden.
Building of the Church started in 1830 and was completed in 1842 under supervision of Johan Stephen Simeon Ballot.
